It's pretty obvious: the rotors were turning, but, somehow, the speed of the rotors was synchronized with the framerate, resulting in this bisarre effect.

This will work on most Windows XP: Type Ctrl-Alt Left arrow. To get the screen right side up, Ctrl-Alt Up arrow.
