A female BP agent threatens to shoot a guy on crutches with a "pepper ball" gun if he makes a break for it. Besides the fact that he's on crutches and cant exactly move quickly, he's a US citizen that has committed no crime, and is on state park land. He got off easy. In Imperial Beach, CA, residents (US born, including young children) are regularly detained, handcuffed, searched and physically assaulted by agents.

  • So you would be ok if they detained your 10 yo with those nylon restraints or beat up your brother for walking his dog on the beach at 4am? If you don't like the Constitution, move to some right wing nation.

  • The U.S. Border extends three (3) nautical miles from any coast line, inlet, jetty, dock, etc. This is also applicable to Swain's Island, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Being a United States Citizen does not give one the right to enter the United States of America without examination. This done at a designated place, i.e. a Port of Entry. The agents depicted here are doing their job -- "patrolling the Border".

  • A threat of being shot for now real reason is terroristic threats. We have a right to defend life, liberty and property. It is our duty! He should have made a citizens arrest and filed a criminal charge and civil lawsuit.

  • Boo hoo. I don't like seeing law enforcement personnel attempting to do the job entrusted to them. Every stop and detention is undoubtedly a human rights violation striking at the very core of the 4th Amendment. Excuse me, I just can't watch anymore. The Constitutional sacrilege is more than I can bear.
