YouTube IS amazing! My aunt (his wife) recently passed away @ 102 yrs young, and unfortunately none of the recordings she had of him were salvageable. I turned to Google and YouTube in hopes of finding something I could include in the hard copy of our family history. That's when I found this little jewel.

The bassist is my uncle, Charles Oden. Verve Records Catalog lists all the band members. This was recorded in Los Angeles, August 25, 1957. I was a mere 8 months old!

lovely easy going thing-always have loved it's big wide sound-Kid Ory was a master of the well judged tempo-who's on bass I wonder?
