2004 Sony HD CRT TV model KV-30HS420

This set is hooked up to a Zenith DTV receiver. It cannot receive DTV by itself but does have an HDMI input.

What's the model of the zenith? I need one.

@mjmcomputers The model is HDV420...I think this was made in 2003 or 2004.

What is the model on that Zenith unit? Does that output HDMI?

@xmaddict The model is HDV420...it doesn't have an HDMI output but does have component output and a VGA connector for a computer monitor.

How come you don't have satellite TV or cable TV?

@austinklucas We don't have cable TV available where I live. We used to have directTV but we got tired of all the advertising and such during the programming that we cancelled it. Plus with digital broadcast television we can now get good quality reception of over-the-air channels.

@Crashbanksbuysilver It has to be plasma too, no LED or LCD that I have seen beats it.

I had that one since 2005, still works great, hard to find something that beats it..you really have to go high end to come close.

This was likely a standby until LCD and Plasma displays became more available and cheaper. I learned something new today. I didnt know the made HDTVs with the old picture tubes. I am pleased so far with the 2 LCD TVs I have.

CRT HDTVs are almost better than the new LED and LCDs simply because the standard-def channels will still look good on the CRT, as opposed to looking like absolute crud on a LED or LCD.

@retrochad this was the best tv that i had now. Mine tv was a sony trinitron crt but after 4 years it was broken when i turn on it it power off . Now i have A SAMSUNG LCD TV also ttis one very nice

I have an hs420 bought new in 05 from circuit city and ive been very satisfied with it. I couldnt of made a better choice! Quality and reliability is top notch on these. A little small tweaks in service.menu made the hd picture even more impressive
