I volunteer feeding kittens at the THS I love the time I am there. Some days are hard but to see a kitten that was so sick up and playing with his brothers and sisters is just the best gift you could ever receive.
If you are thinking of joining us don't think any longer just give it a shot.

  • Im going to join after the 5th of feb, What i really wanna do is search for strays and ferral cats and seve them, there are killer winters in Canada

  • At this time there are not so many kittens come spring they are over loaded. I had never been a cat person and we found a stray that kept giving birth so in my search for help for her I started to volunteer at the T.H.S. I know have added a cat to our home along with our 2 dogs.

Good luck Jason I am sure the kittens will be thrilled you care so much.

You can also be trained to groom the adult cats if you want there is a great need for them to have attention as well.

  • The best thing to do is go down to 11 River St. On the door of the volunteer office you will find the applications. If you are lucky you might get a interview on the spot (look for a supervisor)

After you apply if you don't hear back from anyone phone and bug them. I have had friends that apply and never hear a thing even when they are desperate for people.

  • I have volunteered there for 2 years I am taking the winter off this year. Last year I worked the winter as well. I also use to groom the adult cats upstairs. I love it as well. Yes I do miss them when I am not there.

I would love to foster but we have 2 dogs and a cat so the house is pretty full as far as pets go. I was trying to get my cousin to give fostering a try. How long do you normally foster for?

  • awwwwww, how cute

  • @busafwine where exactly?

  • I found several stray cats? can you help? i live in toronto

  • im actually living in toronto please send me information on this. I finish my exams on the 5th of feb and get a car around than.

  • it depends, usually i take them home when they are in between 400 & 500 grams, around the time when they learn to eat on their own. They usually gain 100 grams a week, so i would have them 4 to 6 weeks on average. They need to be 850 grams to be adopted, sometimes i end up with them longer, if they pick up a URI or something.

  • Great work! Are you still volunteering there? I did kitten feeding at THS for six months, and now i foster. I do miss feeding the lil guys though
