These people were not stupid but the fact that technology was so limited in those days makes this video seems funny to us 60 years later.

Thank you, thank you for posting this clip. I saw it once when I was a child, and only when my youngest son turned me on to YouTube in 2008 did i realize I might have a chance to see it again. I loved showing him him the science fiction of dialing up up a computer. See all you commenters on Altair IV someday.

Th scene at 5:08 seems to me taked from the Jules Vernes book "From the Earth to yhe Moon", with the diference that light is not from a flare, instead from an asteroid explosion.

I rebuilt the wiring of my grand-dad's old 50's dial phone, it still works like a charm.
I take it out and use it every now and then
when the electricity cuts for too long and no one can use the wireless phones and any other phones that need an adaptor plugged into a wall, even cells after a day or 2 without recharge are useless, but this baby still works and will probably continue to work when my kids have kids.

What I always suspected from the start! If only people knew that.

I'm reading a book by Hoagland about NASA. This film does have some oddities. The 33 degrees and the artificial place on the moon, for sure. But how about the scene where the gas tank cracks and is leaking and the guy in the space module (maybe epis. 5). Totally eerie since that is what happened to Apollo 13 (? might be off on the number). Disney productions were still the most incredible, but Von Braun is almost likeable, and yet, he was in a black SS uniform behind Himmler in old photo.

Germany's government people weren't all that different from our government people.

True but remember Oskar Schindler was also a Nazi party member. Hard to judge some folk, however lately its been noted that Von Braun knew the conditions of the workers and what happened to them, but its hard to wonder what he thought if your watched like a hawk, and any bad thought would easly place you in a camp with them.
