  • They do feed at the feeder, they probably had filled their bellies with grain already. They go over once in a while and eat some from the bale. The hay cuts down on some of the grain, but not sure how much. The hay is good for them and I think makes their meat taste better because they have a diverse diet. The grain is a mix of whole corn, and pig mash (ground corn and soybeans, minerals). I use to feed out old bread from a bakery, but too much time to deal with that these days.

  • Oooh I want some! How much do they cost for a breeding pair? Wonderful looking pigs. We want to help save the breed and provide for our family. Is it possible they could be exported to Quebec? I can't find a breeder in Canada yet.

  • thats a beautiful video, beautiful place you have there too. We had some hogs when I was growing up in Michigan. Some of them went over 700lbs, we had a problem with them eating our chickens and ducks.

  • Interesting that most of the pigs were at the hay in this vid and not many at (I'm assuming) the grain feeder. How much grain do you find you use when you make hay freely available in the winter? Do you use any other feeds? Thanks for sharing!
