It's simple. They can say they're putting on a "conservative" to play up the whole fair and balanced angle. Meanwhile they put up a clownish parody of conservatism. Fox does it the other way all the time too.

Why does MSNBC do this? Matthews, Olbermann, and Maddow all in a row. They wonder why they have terrible ratings. Why not put Rachel Maddow on and a conservative so we can see both sides. I would try to watch that show. It would be entertaining. Liberal liberal liberal doesnt work.
