John Wedemeyer plays some slow blues. The AMP started to breakup during this solo and had to get replaced.

  • Yeah, he can really play some excellent guitar. I wish I had taken more and longer videos of him. On the good side, there's a reasonable amount of videos of John that others have posted. You know how it goes, just having superb talent isn't always enough. A lot of luck and timing is necessary to get that big break for fame.

  • Don't know how I didn't know about this guy until tonight, when I feel as if I have stumbled onto one of the genuinely great guitarists. Cannot think of many people who can match this man's range of ideas and superlative tone. I'm serious when I say I feel like the night I discovered Danny Gatton, i.e. "Where the hell have I been? What the hell was I thinking about?" And then I think "It's a CRIME this guy isn't a household name, at the very least among guitarists". Thanks for posting this!

  • @janderson2000

John's a smart guy. Back in HS John and I got backstage at a Dregs concert and met Steve Morse (for the 2nd or 3rd time). Industry Standard had just come out, and Morse was saying how strange it was to 'finally' have a hit song (Crank It Up). But he was clearly not happy. 'The less I do (musically), the more success I have,' he said. Less than a week later Morse left the Dregs and became an airline pilot. I don't want to speak for John, but maybe John is doing what he wants.

  • Nice work John.....as usual! How are you my long lost friend???? Mary

  • John is a great player..We played the Blues cruise together some years ago.

    he was with Charlie Muselwhite

  • I agree John is amazing!

  • Agreed! I used to watch him all the time back in the 90s and it looked like he was on the verge of "making it" back then.

  • John is an idiot Savant.

A Savant at guitar...and an idiot at promotion. Why he's not a household name is a mystery.

  • It was still brilliant!!!
