Urban Atlatl demonstration of new T6 Aluminum Atlatl and carbon dart. The Atlatl is also known as a "Spearthrower". The was used to hunt bison and the wooly mammoth. The Aztecs used the atlatl to defend themselves and hunt.

  • I make my own custom carbon darts by joining two uncut, Bass Pro Shops Redhead Carbon fury 6075 arrows. These are 10.6gpi. The total dart weighs 2.6oz.

I also do my own fletching using 5" vanes or 5" Gateway feathers.

  • @jder30 How do you join the arrow shafts?

  • Neat set-up, I have been interested in atlatls, but have been unsure of how to begin. If you could answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it.

How do you join them, and maintain the flexibility between the two?

What weight do you need for the tip?

What do you use for the 'notch' (Where the atlatl and the dart touch)?

  • How can I get the aluminum atlatl?

  • This looks so cool but they disabled your sound track! Do you use a detachable frontshaft like the early americans. I would really like to get some faux clovis points cast from a good hard resin.

  • man where did you get carbon shafts that long?!

    thats sweeet!!!
