You can actually use overdrive. There is a button on the MIDI adapter that activates Overdrive. And yes, its right, you can use almost any midi compatible keyboard with mad catz's Midi Pro adapter, but you will still play in a 2 octave range. Nice thing about it is that you can play your normal key sounds simultanously und turn the keyboard playback off via in-game menu. what you play in the wrong octave in some cases, but you can hear that the notes are right.

@CopperheadViper I've heard that it's possible, but you can still only use 2 octaves and can't activate overdrive.
-
@FUGGNUTZ Too bad you can't use a midi and plug in an 88 key.
-
@CopperheadViper It's cause you're supposed to use your left hand for activation overdrive and whammying. Even then, the keyboard only has 2 octaves...
-
This is expert? There's No left hand, and they simplified the right hand as well. Wow.

@EasyExpertVillage You should be able to spread to at least an octave. You'll never need more.
I have been thinking about getting the keyboard for Rock Band 3 but im on the fence. Should I get it?

Are you only supposed to use your right hand. or are you just playing that way because it's right for you. are the tracks right on piano unlike some pro guitar tracks like wanted dead or alive. why would they do that. Is it easier with 1 or 2 hands. Can you record and upload a video of what you can do with it and how to play quickplay and stuff that would be helpful to someone who is about to get it. cause im thinking on getting this game. and then send it to me, my email is rubix4x4@gmail.com.

@EasyExpertVillage you are supposed to use only right hand, tracks are right on piano I can say (only octaves can differ cause we hvae only 2 octaves keyboard)... for me its easier with 1 hand but it depends on an actual player some people find it easier with 2 hands... well you have many videos of the game here on my channel and anywhere else on youtube... if you are into music games then RB3 is probably the best music game :)
