take the dpf off strait pipe it and dont worry about it right? or am i blowing smoke?

I have allways respected Banks products, I hope the DPF doesnt slow them down in making more power in the new diesels. I also think the people should have had a say in these laws instead of the EPA just doing whatever the hell they want. just my 2 cents.

Whoever thought of inventing the diesel particle filter, doesn't think in long term views.

who cares what the exhaust temp is at the tip. as long as the under hood temp isnt screaming hott what does it matter or is this just a marketing ploy?

When the DPF goes through a re-gen cycle it actually burns the soot with a kind of after-burner effect by changing timing and dumping fuel. Normally temps like 1,100 degrees egt is something approching danger under the hood, something you'd watch out for... but that's how hot it gets after the filter in re-gen.

The location is mid way under the truck, so without propper cooling those temps can pretty much be seen at the tip. Now you have a blowtorch of hot air coming out which can burn things and catch 'em on fire. All that's marketed here is safety.
