ONCE MY VILLAGE is a short documentary film portraying the impact of industrialization on the traditional culture of the Jajpur district of eastern Orissa in India. Jajpur which was the ancient Capital of Orissa has thousands of lush green villages and 8 rivers surrounding the industrial complex. The industrial complex called Kalinga nagar claims to regain the ancient glories of the state but at the cost of the environment(nature) and land acquistion of the villagers. Kalinga nagar is also infamous for the 2003 tribal massacre where 13 tribal and 2 policemen were left dead after the conflict.
Great movie!! Very true and touching!! Thanks Pranab. Let us see how our Jajpur puts us in the world map - with a clap or a slap.
