Autechre : Milk DX

One of my favorite Autechre tunes - "Milk DX" from Peel Sessions.



NOTES ON AUDIO QUALITY:
For some reason I haven't been able to upload any videos for months without the sound quality being raped by YouTube's compression, and this video is no exception.

The 'workaround' I used for this video involved normalizing the audio to -3 dB and mixing in a 20 kHz sine wave at -9 dB. While this resulted in less degradation than the original upload of the same video, the sound quality still stinks.

If anyone has a technique for uploading videos without significant audio degradation, please contact me.

current YT audio encoding is limited to 128kbps with 44.1khz max

16,000 hz frequency, thats tha catch, normalising may work a little, but the bitrate is dire, i'd prefer 320kbps minimum, hope this helps a little

i think most of the audio compression is due to the encode from you tube being at

240p

as far as i can tell it downgrades audio to match the lower quality of the picture.

I remember my brother was obsessed with techno tracks, and he had me listen to this saying it was indescribably amazing, and I agreed right away.

later he said that he had sat in his chair in his room for 8 hours listening to this track on a loop, and then suddenly looking at the clock, and it was time to go to school!

I fell in love with this track, and listened to it for hours on end myself.

wait, why not just make all songs acapella from now on. this will revolutionize music.

this song samples rapping by Milk D of Audio 2. (hence the name Milk dx) It is processed quite heavily, but you can hear it... at 3:01 it is clearly identifiable as his voice if you are familiar with Audio 2.
