The Meet the Stans series took Simon from the far north-west of Kazakhstan, by the Russian border, east to the Chinese border, south through Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to the edge of Afghanistan, and west to Uzbekistan and the legendary Silk Road cities of Samarkand and Bukhara.

Simon Reeve is a bestselling author and broadcaster. In recent years hes travelled to scores of countries around the world for a series of BBC television documentaries.

Simon has contributed to other books on organised crime, terrorism and biological warfare. His book One Day in September: the story of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre, is also an Oscar-winning feature documentary film narrated by the actor Michael Douglas.
Simon has received a One World Broadcasting Trust award for an outstanding contribution to greater world understanding.

@aaroncov 4 of us went 2 yrs ago it cost us £100 ea 2 days 1 nght 1/3 of that was original taxi man we someked senseless had amazing homecooked food and we left with 20g of hash oil and 75g of the best moroccan hashish in the world. now farmer rings me once a yr.

if you ever want to stay on a hashish farm let me know. fr tangier it costs bout £5 or 10 on coach. i have a farmer who would let you sleep in his very nice house for probably £50 a night with all you can smoke and something to take with you. Obviously taking anything off farm is your responsibility.
