Severe weather in Scotland 30 March 2010. Astronomically high spring tides coincide with a north-easterly gale pushing water into the Firth of Forth in Edinburgh. It is very rare that the sea is pushed so far up the beach and onto the promenade. The same weather system brought deep snow, heavy rain, severe gales and flooding to much of Scotland and Northern Ireland 9 days after the spring equinox!!!!
