so when attaching a C-8 lens to the canon 514 XL-s does it require any kind of lens converter to attach it or will the lens just screw on over the original lens
by the way i love watching your footage something about super 8 just hypnotizes me

That's right - you just screw it on - also fits the 514xl and 310xl too!
You will need to lock the lens with the zoom in the 'Wide Macro' position and then keep the focus ring set on infinity. As long as you have an exposure value of at least f5,6 and keep a minimum of 1 metre away from you subject you will have good focus!

@Caspersdaddy would it still be possible to manual zoom with the C8 attachment or will it have to be locked

@zachthezombie Like I said you will have to lock the lens with the zoom lever in the wide macro position. Pulling up the lever and over the notch it will then lock into position. Once this is locked you cannot zoom. If you release it and zoom whilst you have the c8 attachment on you will waste your film. Hope this helps.
