What could be better than Persian desserts and tea? How about samosas and meatballs to go with it? Alice Levitt joins Farah Oberlender of Farah's Middle Eastern Foods in Johnson for a late afternoon feast, Iranian-style.

  • It's true she offers all kinds of dishes, not just Persian. She calls her business "Farah's Middle Eastern Foods" for that reason. She is doing very well, by the way, and relocating to Burlington, the most populated and probably most ethnically diverse town in Vermont. She will get lots of business on the corner of North St. and N. Winooski Ave!

  • The "Persian Meatball" is called Koofteh, and the good ones have a prune in the middle, yum!

  • @fewoifhiu3hfklew But its okay cause girl got her hustle on and it just goes to show you a Persian woman can be out in the middle of nowhwere and make it happen

  • Very few of the dishes (1-2) are actually traditional Persian, the rest seem to be either greek, arabic or turkish or some mix of mediterranean.
