Many people with bipolar disorder feel hopeless and believe that things will not improve. HealthyPlace.com Expert Bipolar Patient and author, Julie Fast, says living with bipolar disorder can produce those feelings, but there are things to feel hopeful about.
What is real!!!??
How am i supposed to know which is the appropriate logical response to my world. How can i deal with anything properly without knowing this?
Im sick of just struggling to be happy. I want to achieve REAL things outside of my self.
Are the only victories im ever to have going to be over myself? Is that really all there is for me? FML

There is no God, I'm not bipolar, I'm just going to go kill myself after typing in hopelessness and seeing bipolar disorder come up. There is no hope.

It is sooooooooooooo....important to have Hope. My Christian Faith has sustained me throughout my life with many life-threatening illnesses. I was initally dx with major depression with ptsd in 1999, in April of 2002, I became bipolar. Became very manic and am finally somewhat stable, just coming down from being depressed. But for the 1st time in my 40 years I am finally happy. Hope never fails.....hold onto your faith.

Life is meaningless, if eternity and God doesn't exist. That's the logical conclusion everyone should come to.

if you create your own hope then that mean that by definition hope is completely subjective and has no ferm basis in reality wich in itself paints a very hopeless view of life
its no fun being smart when your depressed

Julie,
I hope you are RIGHT!! I felt sad when I got my diagnosis. I was handed Seroquil XR and Lithium and come back in two weeks. I'm unemployed, $10's of thousands in debt from doing dumb things during manic periods and I'm not sure if this medication will restore any "hope." BUT I will take my medication and I have accepted my diagnosis of Bipolar (I'm over 50). I just hope this medication changes my outlook on life and SOON!

very true. i think it is important what she pointed out about creating your own hope. it's difficult with this illness to find a reason to keep with it, but by using very concrete examples, such as "I have a family that loves me, I owe it to them to keep strong", you can find a way to keep working at it.
I have found a way to keep going right now, I hope you have too.
