Tim Stirke with General Dynamics-IT talks about what a General Dynamics recruiter is looking for from a job seeker at a Cleared Job Fair.

Interviewer: When you're at a Cleared Job Fair, what are you specifically looking for a job from a job seeker when they approach the job fair booth?

Tim Strike: I get most impressed when a candidate walks up to us, has visited our website and has a specific position in mind in with the job ID number or requisition number and they come to us and say Tim, I'm interested in this position. Can you tell me more about it? Then we will review the resume together, go over their background, their experience and from there we can talk more specifics on the opportunity and see if it is a match with their background.

Interviewer: A lot of people have recommended that job seekers have their elevator speech. What they're looking for salary wise, location. Are you looking for job seekers to provide you with additional information about themselves?

Tim Strike: We are. We're going to review the resume, but we need to know some more about the job seeker and what their interests are, in terms of salary, in terms of location, in terms of the position itself. Where do they feel they will be progressing their career to that next level.

Interviewer: When I looked back over the records of the many times that General Dynamics has come to a Cleared Job Fair I've noticed that your recruiters have always been voted some of the best recruiters attending the event. Can you tell me more about the recruiting team that comes to a Cleared Job Fair?

Tim Strike: Well, we do send a full team of recruiters to a Cleared Job Fair. And, we do that because we know that the candidates are going to want to come and talk to us and spend time with us. So, we do take extra with each and every candidate, finding out more about them that's not covered in their resume. Where they're looking at taking their career. What's the type of compensation they're interested in? The location of the positions that they would be interested in pursuing. So we gonna take that extra time with each candidate to make sure that they feel satisfied and that it's was worthwhile coming in and talking with our recruiters.
