The National Reconnaissance Office just released video from codename Hexagon, a Cold War era spy-sat photo program. Twenty KeyHole "Big Birds" were launched from 1971 to 1986. Their resemblance to Hubble Space Telescope is not merely coincidental.

  • Dale Gribble was right man, there were dang old satellites spying on us!

LoL. I'm pretty sure the film would be even more boring without music being there. I have also noticed that parts of the satellite are still classified. Do you think that there might be some truth to people with conspiracy theories?

  • @Archer7Tadayoshi In that era, the United States and the Soviet Union did whatever they could to spy on one another's nuclear capabilities. And think goodness they did. This information gave confidence to each nation that the other wasn't trying to launch what could easily have become World War Three, fought with nukes. The only conspiracy here was the one that kept you – or your parents – alive.

  • @tqnohe If this video was soooo boring why did you continue to watch it?

  • @tqnohe We, Koreans, like this video. Gief more.

  • provide film at 200 inches per SECOND at the focal plane! Mind. Blown!

  • The amazing thing about this is that Hexagon was happening 40 years ago. Corona/ Gambit 50 years ago.

  • What about the space aliens, man....?

  • A very informative video. I volunteered as a docent at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC for the last 2 years. I shared with visitors about the importance of the Corona KH-4B Camera in the Space Race Gallery.
