Growing Calif. Blaze Forces Thousands to Flee

A wildfire in California's Santa Cruz Mountains is forcing about 2,400 people from their homes. Authorities issued a mandatory evacuation order Thursday for the entire community of Bonny Doon which includes several wineries. (Aug. 13)

I used to ask that very same question from NJ when I witnessed hurricane after hurricane hit the Gulf Coast on the evening news during the 60's and 70's. Through a set of circumstances, I wound up living in New Orleans from '85 to '04. You make do.
