I shot one with my 22 long rifle at 1200 yards and hit him right in the ass and that was all she wrote. The sum bitch got so mad when that bullet hit him he charged my ass the entire 1200 yards and I had to put a rear naked choke hold on him when my montgomery ward single shot jammed on me. I choked him out and then put a leash on his ass and when he woke up I rode him back to camp. I brought him home to the states and now he's a house buffalo that sleeps on the bed with me and my wife.

it'll be eaten by locals and probably the hunter also. the fees paid for the hunt will benefit the community and conservation. Then he mounted the head in his office.

My dad always told me "You can't eat horns" and "If it ain't a freezer-stuffer don't shoot it " ... What does CB chili taste like ?

@2Devicevox He had ann ecxellent point about the insurance shot. I have a cousin been hunting his whole life gets a nice bull moose. drops like a rock he pokes it in the eye, nothing. gets on it for a picture and the stupid thing starts getting up.

@ronnied828 - if you shoot it enough times! You also need to pay attention to bullet quality. Solids is a must for buff, they are BIG animals. You can get lucky, but it is not advised. Min caliber (legally in most places) is .375
I have been on hunts where a big bull was still moving after 8 x .458LOTT rounds had put holes through his heart, lungs and spine lungs. They are not to be fcked with

you can take out large game like this with a 338 win mag as well, 250 gr.

If only every hunt was as clean as that one. Good shooting, chaps.
Buck, I know you uploaded this some time ago, but if u would, your opinion(s) please -- firstly, i know among Park Rangers the self defense weapon of choice against grizzly is 12 gauge high brass with a rifled slug. Could that be sufficient for CB? And secondly, sdince i've never hunted a CB, how come the insurance shots when you blew his brains out? You'd think you would have short circuited him and tacked him to the earth right there?
Thanks brother,
Tim

@2Devicevox I was taught many years ago to never take a chance with any animal that is down. Peter Capstick once told me "it's the dead ones that can kill you." That means, Never assume it's dead, never approach from the front, and with dangerous big game a final bullet to the base of the skull is cheap insurance.
