This video discusses a strain of the calf muscle, one of the common sports injuries. It is caused from overuse, acceleration, and/or change of direction resulting in a tear of the lower leg muscles. Treatment includes, resting, icing, and physical therapy. Depending on the severity of the lower leg pain, rehab is a minimum of 2-3 weeks and a maximum of 8.

  • did she say it stelf?? lol 0:44

  • I had this since last thursday, so it's been like a week and a day. They hurt so badly, but I toughed it out for a week. I did not realize that it was an actual injury, thinking at the time that they just hurt like hell.

  • @kdizzleproductions thats the funniest youtube comment I have ever read thanks.

  • @kfeder76 It seems like you have it under control. I used to use 80+ weight but now I use 60 but I do more reps.

  • @stillfran I was using weights on my calf raises. I was only doing about 95- 100 lbs when I do them. I worked them two days ago and I feel fine....it is only when I neglect them for two months and then over work them when I get pain. I have been doing them at least once a week since and and have had no problems. This week I did legs twice and no problems....just need to work them regularly and they seem to appreciate it.

  • @kfeder76 I don't know about you but the older I get, even though I am very careful, the more injuries I seem to experience. My calf has been feeling great so I hope I can put this behind me. I hope you recover soon! Were you using weights with your calf raises and if so, how much?

  • @stillfran hey there is a reason I was looking at this video. I worked out the other day and did the lower body exercises....first time in like two months. Did four sets of 12-15 on calf raises. Next day fine...yesterday...I had to tiptoe around the house. Today....same thing. There is a reason people don't work their legs. It sucks.

  • @kfeder76 Well, that's an idea. Sure glad the problem wasn't with my head! LOL

  • @stillfran if it happens again my friend....amputate...then it will go away forever.

  • I strained mine while playing racquetball a little over 3 months ago. I couldn't put any weight on that leg but only needed crutches for 3 days. I refrained from my sport for one month and returned gradually. However, I re-injured it (but not as bad) so I stayed away for a few weeks. My first week back, I did it again! I am going to rest it for 2 months this time but if it happens again, then what?
