“Xmas” is perfectly fine--it does NOT remove Christ from Christmas but puts Him IN it
“X” is the Greek letter chi, which the Latin alphabet transliterates as “ch” (we transliterate theta as “th," etc.)
Early Christians often wrote “X” to stand for “Christos” (or Χριστός), sometimes to avoid censorship, detection, etc., but sometimes just to save space (codices--ancient books--were very expensive)
To condemn “Xmas” is, implicitly, to condemn the early church
