2002 Ford Lightning Flowmaster Super 44 muffler (cold start-up & soft rev)
Just had it installed on 4/21/09 at my local exhaust shop PRO-EXHAUST in Auburn WA 98092
Cost only $65 to install.
It sounds really good in person.

  • does it matter which u get exhaust or muffler?

  • @SuperBlueflag No, not really. I think it depends on which you can afford. everyone i know goes all the way by purchasing the complete exhaust system. it also has to do with the new-ness if that makes sense. replacing everything with new parts will last for along time. for example i've had the same system on my 98 expedition for the last 6 yrs, and it still looks like new.

  • Sounds awensome! This F150's side exhaust is so sexy

  • @Gabzaiat Thanks! Yeah i really liked the way the side exhaust sounded. it may not seem loud in this vid but you could hear this truck coming a block away, i loved that truck. Speed and sound, can't go wrong with that.

  • I have the cats delete and full cooks hedders and bassanis , sounds good just a bit loud , I like the flowmasters , but I am going with turbo mufflers for more back pressure , then pulley s ,programer / slicks

  • @Z7EXTREMEBABY I tried the cat delete on mine, for about a month. it sounded awesome. I hated the fact that most of the back pressure was lost, so i decided to reinstall them and put the Super 44 muffler on. supposedly it was touted as being more aggressive sounding then the original 40 series, they were about the same. I want to warn you about using programmers on lightnings just be careful on how many times you program and reprogram the ECU, mine got screwed up, but it got better.

  • @JRLightning alright i understand. the whole money thing is what id have trouble with so if theres no diff ill prob go with the muffler lol

  • @xINTENCITYx At one time i did take the cats off, and it was ok for about a week after that it was too much for me to handle and everyone at work was complaining about how loud my truck was. When i had them off the check engine light would come on every once and a while but it had no affect on how the truck performed. it sounds like you might need new o2 sensors or new cats. other than those small issues no major problems with mine.

  • do you have cats? if not did you have any issues with your o2 censor? since i put in the 50 my o2 censor keeps signaling. i still have the cats.

  • @xINTENCITYx The Super 44 was a nice sounding muffler but it wasnt my favorite, the first system i had on it was a true dual 3 inch flowmaster 10 series race mufflers, that was the best sound i had ever had from that truck. I think i had mentioned that i had stainless steel shorty headers on it, with a k&n CAI bolted on it too. I had a 50 series put on mine about 3 yrs ago, i lived with it for about a week then i decided to straight pipe it. I look forward to seeing your video!
