REMEMBER TO CLICK THE "HD"-BUTTON ON THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE JUST UNDERNEATH THE VIDEO.

Plex 0.7.8 with Aeon skin running on a 2 GHz IC2D Mac Mini (2 GB ram) on Mac OS 10.5.6. Movies stored on the connected external hard drive. All movies are high-definition (720p) and encoded in the MKV-container. They run perfectly on the Mini in either QuickTime (Perian installed), VLC or Plex. Playback of video may seem choppy in this illustration, but this is due to the video-capturing software running simultaneously. Music and pictures stored on another computer (Mac Pro) connected to the Mini via a regular home network, wirelessly, as illustrated in iTunes. In Plex, the streaming of music and pictures, from the other computer's iTunes and iPhoto applications respectively, works perfectly and the other computer need simply be turned on and have Plex Media Server installed - a simple application that runs in the "background" requiring nearly no CPU power.

Both EyeTV and Plex controlled fully by the Sony Blu-Ray Disc Remote (Bluetooth) also known as the PS3 remote via the application Remote Buddy.

This is the perfect media center setup involving a Mini in a TRUE media center environment, since there is no need for a mouse nor a keyboard. In my case, it is hooked to my 37" LG flat screen (high-definition 1080p) at all times and is practically never turned off.

  • what build of plex are you using where it lists games? Emulation is the one section of plex i have not attempted to use.

  • @salinaj2 It's just there for "show." No games unfortunately.

  • Your music (if we can call it that) sucks.

  • What could have been an opportunity for some great info regarding this media rig is ruined by the highly distracting and profane music. Now excuse me while I get this fecal matter out of my ears.....

  • Shit got real emotional towards the end.

    Great video bro. Nice finish.

  • @reitsound great music slow people cant understand it lmao

  • gread vid

  • @2008PS3 Predominantly Handbrake.

  • @tappeddarkman89 The problem with FAT32 is that it can only contain files that are smaller than 4 GB. HD movies will run up to anywhere from 4-20 GB. The problem with Mac OS Journaled format is that it's not writable from a Windows platform. So my solution is NTFSforMacOSX on Mac and MacDrive for Windows.

  • how did you get the itunes plugin to be in the music section?
