This really should have been an introduction to Part 1. In this I explain how the hoof develops a laminar wedge to try and stablize the coffin bone. You must understad this to understand why I back the toe up the way I do.

  • Thank you a million million times for these videos. Would you please tell me what you think of the Nolan Hoof Plate? I think it needs shoes to be put on the foundered horse, but wondering if you think it could be used in emergencies? I'd love to send you photos/vids of my horses' hooves for advice if this was ok.

  • Nice vid! I'm just learning to care for my horses feet, reading books, etc, but you helped clarify some stuff I was unsure of.

  • good job young lady//// keep goin

  • Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for your videos!! I confess I'm not a barefooter cause my horse is happy, healthy, and sound having been correctly shod his whole life, but these videos do a great job of explaining the anatomy and the physics/biomechanics in a totally straight forward way. So BLESS YOU!!! Because I've gone through helping several friends recover their horses from bad shoers and this has been a great help in diagnosing and treating these horses :) They thank you!

  • More great stuff. thanks El for carrying the torch, always sending new barefooters to your videos. Awesome!

  • This is a GOOD thing. Your videos are outstanding resources and they are helping alot of other horses get healthy feeties.
