On May 5, 2011, Deafhood Foundation was one of several sponsors of a community presentation by Mark Zaurov, a Deaf PhD candidate from Hamburg, Germany. Zaurov shared his research and knowledge on Deaf Holocaust, the Deaf Jew experience in Europe especially during the early 20th century, and some well-known or successful Deaf Jew people and artists.
Deafhood Foundation interviewed him on video. Here Zaurov shares a bit about his background, his PhD focus, and reflections.

Very good vlog and important message...a lot of holocaust Deaf survivors can tell stories...are they willing to share as some have refused to talk about it...which is understandable as it was very traumatic experience...yet the stories needs to be told...I hope more will tell their stories before they passed on...get it off their chest and let it be known what was done to them was VERY wrong! Eugenics is still going on, even today!

Wow, a very powerful and educational vlog! I want to offer my congratulations to Deafhood Foundation for finding and sponsoring him. That man has the potential to make his research that would make everlasting impact on how we can present our findings to the autistic establishment in order to gain our long overdue equality!

Great vlog and excellent information about Deaf/Jewish histories that we need to learn more about. I look forward to it.
Thanks!
