@jedbimcdb If we as a society can start to say, it ok to have the thoughts instead of "You're disgusting for even thinking about that" and encourage these individuals to seek treatment before the act then we have protected many children.

Many have a hard time being rehabilitated after they have committed the acts. We need to figure out how many can function with the thoughts but not committing the acts.

I completely understand that this is one of the most heinous crimes that someone can commit. In order to understand this behavior I have to be as objective as possible Many of these pedophiles were sexually abused by pedophiles. Many of them fear to talk about the attraction to children before they act in fear of the repercussion and the stigma associated with just having the thoughts therefore they act .

I know that nothing has been proven to work so far, not even chemical castration. But, what are you suggesting then? What would your proposal be? To me the best solution is the death penalty, and i totally support it (The process should be shorter!). If they take a life away, they must pay with theirs.

Your arguments are subjective as opposed to objective. If you're in medicine then you should be familiar with some 'no duty rule or some other term which allows you to step away from helping an individual in need of medical attention.

If someone is a known pedophile who is on parole and is in need of medical attention what do you do?
