I agree with Le Corbu in principle, however ordinary people in government bureaucracies took parts of his ideas and didn't execute them well. It's a shame that so many people have a low opinion of him when in fact it was the imitators that ruined his vision and that of modernism as a whole.

Great architect, but something got lost in the translation. His architectural heirs have scarred the landscape of large cities all over the world. It would be a service to humanity if they started dynamiting ASAP. We could use the concrete.

    Good architect; terrible urban-planner.

He pionered modernism in architecture and laid the foundation for the international style. I love his design concepts. I adore this man for being so talented.

He was still 'the' God of architecture when I was a student in the 1960,s. In London this type of high rise council housing destroyed any sense of community. Most people prefer a backyard that is private and a communal street in the front - this works. They like to be connected to the earth, not living in the sky. He was a great designer but a poor judge of what made urban life tolerable. Communistic notions of "mass habitation"are at last discredited.

I personally feel that ultimately his "large scale" architecture failed. And it failed miserably, The legacy of which scars the skyline of most major cities.

So what I'm getting out of this video is that when this interview was done he was 71 yrs old. Everything else he says only he understands.
