TEDxSydney 2010 was organised by General Thinking and took place on Saturday 22 May 2010 at CarriageWorks. Almost 2,000 people enjoyed the day, over 700 in the theatre and the rest via big screen simulcast in The Forum. It was a grand day.

About TEDx, x = independently organised event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organised TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organised.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • The Original TED is the best one of all. still the best. may be because it encounter the best available ideas throughout the world.

  • Today's TED was disappointing. No brain expansion whatsoever! The brand advocate was a joke. "Handicrafts will save developing countries". Move on Alex.

  • What a pity I tuned in late via ABC Radio National. Sounds like a great day... My speech to remediate the world , try this...: " Stop wasting so much fuel to cause needless Carbon emissions . Put a streamlined Solar Panel onto a road-vehicle to save 5 to 25 litres per week. Check the SunFoil Short-talk (Update) clip at my account. (It includes the CSIRO evaluation of the project). If you're serious about Global Warming , & use a piston-engined vehicle , then this applies to you-all... Ciao.

  • After watching so many American TED Talks, the Australia accent here was a strong slap in the face!
