This was actually not bad. But I still think The Fugees should rest. Quit while you're on top.

@sladonn636 That's the way I felt when I first heard it. She just expresses herself so clearly and profoundly that if people actually listened to her lyrics, most of their question would be answered.

@Moxyville Those lyrics give me the chills. It's like Lauryn used one verse to tell the story of The Fugees from beginning to end. Now, I want to know all the details of what happened to them. They seemed so tight. I wish Lauryn would write a book or something.

We entered into hip hop, we were young gifted and boundless
Attracted to the freedom, courage, power, profoundness,
We had our pretensions, dissensions, conventions,
But there was (remember), we were open to the challenge,
Then came the fame, money, notoriety, hypocrisy, then anxiety,
Most of us suffered quietly,
From PR to ER, our freedom got detoured,
Truth turned to folklore, youths turned to coke whore,
Escaped from reality, afraid of exposure,
Prior denied closure, did what they told ya,

Agendas and egos, they began to live through us,
They started to take from us, what they was supposed to get to us,
Distorted dynamics, making egos gigantic,
emotional artists got bought, sold, and d-d-damaged,
black disadvantaged, no fat acts mismanaged,
bad contracts the standard, take land back demand it,
