On 10/16 Mike Gratz was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer - stage 3 clear cell sarcoma. He had a tumor in his foot that was removed earlier in the month...it was removed because it was bothering him, not because the docs thought it was anything serious...now his family is in for the fight of their lives.
In late November, Mike had surgery on his foot and luckily the doctors were able to remove the tumor without amputating below the knee -- they "only" had to remove a portion of his foot. Because of the tumor size (greater than 5 cm), Mike still has a big fight in front of him and still needs to be one of the few who beat the odds. He is strong and has a great family and support system to lean on, but please continue to pray for him!

Wow i had surgery on 11/23/09 i had a hard knot on the bottom of my foot removed. I went back on 12/1/09 for them to check my insecion, only to find out that it is clear cell sarcoma. My Fiance is 7 months pregnant with our son, right now my oncologist is trying to figure out how much my foot dr took out and how much more shee can take out before my foot is unusable so im lookin at amputation as well, I wish u guys the very best and i know exactly wht yall are going through and i will pray

I saw your note on facebook...will send a MSG to u thru facebook later today (I'm sitting on a plane now). I'm Mikes sister...I can get u the information that we've found. That was one of the difficult parts--because it's rare it's hard to find info. Sorry you are dealing with this...will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I will follow up with you once I'm on the ground and in front of a computer.
