  • Well, just a heads up to the people who say he should go into opera, that would mean he'd disappear for at least 4, but probably more, years in order to go to school and learn how to sing opera. As a classical voice student I appreciate that there's something out there that is helping bride the gap between pop and opera in the OTHER direction of pop to opera instead of opera to pop, but right now he really doesn't have the chops to just start singing opera and be taken seriously from people who

  • Very good indeed, I enjoyed it a lot

  • Beautiful

  • i think wide awake is the best of joe mcelderry

  • Theres no power in his voice and he sounds like a girl. He does have a good singing voice but it is not suited for opera. Well, maybe he could be a soprano ;)

  • What can't he sing! His voice is so versatile, that's the only problem - he needs to find a niche for himself, at the moment he has too broad of a spectrum of voice to find a place in the record-selling industry.

  • You need attitude to be an opera singer, even though joe is a fantastic singer, and i have no doubht in the world that he cant learn to be a professional opera singer.

  • @acdcislaw Yeah, sadly you're probably right regarding his future as an opera singer. He just hasn't got the personality for the passion that is required for that art form. Having said that I just love his voice and could see him in the West End in some musical sometime. But at the end of the day, I sensed that he doesn't really wish to follow an opera career anyway, so all this talk of is he or isn't he good enough for opera is all academic!

  • @showmoke Nessun Dorma isn't really a good show of range, i think the highest note in that aria is a B flat, which isn't that impressive. I would also say he did not sound completely natural with those low notes at the beginning, this being said he does have a good voice for a pop singer, but it is my belief that he could never come close to an actual opera singer even if he did commit himself 100%.

  • first time that the judges actually know what they are talking about because they actually freaking amazing lol
