Bio:
Despot is a Black Metal act from Brazil formed in 2008, and it's composed solely of B.A.V., who writes and performs all the music. B.A.V has been involved with composing and recording Extreme Metal since 1998, and has played in bands like Unholy Massacre and Necrocult, being the chief creative force of both bands during his period as a member. Despot's influences can be divided in two distinct groups: 90's Black Metal bands like The True Mayhem, Gorgoroth, Emperor, Thorns, Immortal, Satyricon, Samael, etc and 80's proto-Black Metal and Thrash Metal bands, such as Venom, Bathory, Sarcofago, Celtic Frost, Sodom, etc. Despot is a solo act due to the difficulty of finding musicians with a similar mindset and dedication to their instruments and to music as a whole. However, the band has proven to be very prolific and is able to continuously release original material. The band is currently looking for deals with distributors and record labels.
