Wouldn't you always want swarm towers in the middle?

My thinking is that you want to kill / weaken the planes long before they overlap in the center. If they overlap, your guns have twice as much to deal with. I want the planes knocked out of the sky so my guns can deal with any land based creeps.

Everybody hates them flying creeps!

That's good, but I think that you can't attack creeps until they cross the white border. By placing towers right at the entrances, you are effectively reducing their range by almost 50%.
