This project explores the intersection between system intelligence and aesthetics in product design through movement qualities and intelligent learning algorithms, coupled to adaptive lighting.
The goal of this project was to design an intelligent closet which analyses movement qualities and adapts it lighting behavior accordingly. The movement qualities are based on theories of Laban Movement Analysis. These movement qualities are analyzed through machine learning techniques, specifically the Neural Gas algorithm, to respond in a way that supports a persons aim in an interaction, adapting over time to the persons behavior.
