Simply put, the most electrifying scene ever put on film. Rita Moreno and George Chakiris show boundless chemistry and fabulous dancing in leading the Sharks in a stinging rebuke of, and love song to, immigrant life in NYC.

  • SUCH A CLASSIC MAN! Sadly it still applies, migrants go 2 USA and make that country better and still they are wetbacks

  • I love when Bernardo says "One look at us and they charge twice" haha hilarious. He is my fav.

  • Interesting juxtaposition between the men and women in this scene, I love Puerto Rico and I love Manhattan. Women from Puerto Rico had more freedom in American especially during this era when the movie takes place, great movie. Life is all right in America if you are white in America, powerful line.

  • too bad they were real enemies! from the real source

  • Happy birthday, Rita Moreno.

  • Five Iron Frenzy FTW

  • This is by far my favorite part of the movie!

  • i just saw Rita Moreno sing and dance a part of that song last night in Berkeley. She's in her 80's.

  • @livinluxuriously a dress shop..

  • At 5:43 is when I fell head over heels with Rita Moreno. I was five it was 1970.

  • Classic for sure but "most electrifying scene ever put on film"? Hardly.

  • I love how that kind of car was just a dream then and now we have cars with tv and cable. =P
