Devon Coast HD 720p (Rail Simulator)

Anyone who has taken a holiday in the south of Devon, England, may have noticed the main line from London to Plymouth and Penzance, as it hugs the coastline, most famously past Dawlish (where the track is innundated by winter waves).

This is a short video of an HST, seen heading south along the banks of the Exe, through Dawlish, past Teignmouth and up the Teign estuary towards Newton Abbott.

This is a hazy sunny summer's day - anyone remember an English summer?

The program is of course Rail Simulator, and the route is a freeware one called South Devon Banks available from www.uktrainsim.com. The full route is from Exeter to Plymouth, but this is the seaside scenic part.

It was recorded in HD using Fraps at 1280x720, at 30fps. The detail is set to "full" and the nice water effects in RailSim can be seen to good effect.

Yes it is well hidden. Go to the download library bit, select Rail simulator, and look in the routes section - South Devon Banks. You will need to register to download it, and you'll need the package manager to install the route.

-Does this train already come on the disk?

-Can you see the wheels on the train spinning?

-Does the class 170 EMU train come on the disk already?

All trains you see here are part of Rail Simulator, and that includes spinning wheels. I don't know what a "class 170 EMU" is, but RailSim does include a class 166 DMU

hey i have this but everytime i load a scenario it freezes and crashes to the desktop do ya know how to fix this problem as im aching to try this route out

@IvanMorgan1966 Well, fuck all if I know classes but DMU is Diesel Multiple Unit, and EMU is obviously Electric. It's an electrified commuter similar to the DMU you mentioned, I would assume.

nice vid 5* could you do a vid from exeter to plymouth with eather gwr king, castle,hall or manor the cornish rivera express may 12 coach if you could it would be fantastic im not telling you to this its just a sugestion
