The audio engineers (from what I've read) still generally design movies to use 5.1 audio. The extra two channels are not as discreet as DTS would have you think. Now, it *could* see a benefit for video games, since each voice could come from a unique location and actually would be properly mixed, but 7.1 gives rather little for movies.
