@Reaganwannabe You are misinformed. There are countless scientific studies linking DDT to cancer in humans. Just because people were naive enough in the 40s to sit in clouds of DDT does not mean that it is safe to do so. It is extremely difficult to get chemical compounds banned in the United States. The fact that the US government banned DDT should tell you something.

This bit of sensationalism tries to link birth defects and cancer to DDT, but in fact there's little evidence for this at the levels generally used as a pesticide. If used again in Africa and other places in which malaria is a major killer, DDT would doubtless save many lives.

@stacylizard It's all fraudulent science. People conducting the test made many mistakes in which led them to believe that ddt was linked to anything that happened bad to somebody.

DDT should be legal again... and of course is harmful DUH its a pesticide.. how the fuck is DDT any different then any other pesticide... try to spray raid in to you mouth and see what will happen.. such things need to be used carefully and not just brainlessly sprayed all over the place... @stacylizard that the US government bans something should not tell you anything, the US government is not the holder of all knowledge, in fact they considered very incompetent by many..including me

Yes it saved lives but we can't be overly selfish or ignorant to long term effects. DDT is fat soluble and persistent, it builds up in the environment, we damage the ecosystems we damage our way-of-life. The fact that people get sick as they age doesn't hold water, younger and younger people are getting sick today. DDT has affects on the nervous systems of human and is cancerous. perhaps all the cases of Alzheimer, dementia, and cancer are a result of the usage of the chemical.

Do you work for the chemical industry?!? What I found laughable is how completely ignorant you are in science and how easily you've been fooled by multi-billion dollar industries. So we should accept exposure to KNOWN human carcinogens as a fact of life, simply because industry decides that is our fate? You are scientifically illiterate, poorly read, and are obviously having difficulty dealing with hostility.
