This is the first test run of my home made centrifugal oil filter. The outer case is made from a gas bottle and the inner rotor is made from a cut down smaller gas bottle both found damaged in a skip. The motor is 2 hp 2800 RPM. I used a motor this size because the shaft is 20mm in diameter so is very strong. There is also a bearing under the rotor to take the loads caused by the rotor being out of balance. The humble gas bottle was never designed to spin at 2800 revs hence the two large nuts on the outer rim acting like the balance weights on a car wheel. (you can see them on the other vid when the rotor stop. This oil is cold and FULL of animal fat and would have been no use without this filter but was great for testing the unit. Feel free to ask any questions.
