Tornado Damage in Kearney, NE

Tornadoes ripped through Kearney, NE on May 29th, 2008. These are some photos of the damage. I heard the tornadoes pass through, and several of these pictures are just three blocks from where I live.

I lived right next to harmon park when this happen. Good thing my wife and son and i had a garden level apt.

that was a terrible storm!! The fairgrounds was the worst damage i heard that there still repairing it but i think they might be done our trampoline was lifted up and flew about 19 miles till we saw it again, It was such a sad storm i'm glad no one died!!

i remeber being in a samll small closet with my brother besfriend and 2 cats praying that the tordando would not last long

Tornados are scary! My father took a rare color film in 1953 when a tornado tore through Worcester,MA.I put it on youtube also.

yea i live in kearney and i was home alone they hit i was only 12 at the time and mom and older brother were out of the house so i was freaking out! it blew away our trampoline and we still dont know where it is lol

Did you not get any picture of up by Harmon Park?

@evanellis :38 and :42, 2:54 are all Harmon Park. :38 even has the Harmon Park sign in the background. I took these the morning after and most of the area around Harmon was shut off so it was hard to get good close-up shots.

I took these the day after the tornado. the cops wouldn't let me get any closer. believe me, i tried.
