This is one of those rare times where you want the monster to kill the little boy. Michael Baldwin is so appalling as an actor and as a little boy that you actually find yourself having more sympathy with the killers in the movie. I´ve never felt this way about a child actor before, so props to Baldwin for making the shittiest impression ever. Please see the movie Phantom and tell me if you guys agree., and why. Curious how a kid can destroy a movie all by himself.

It´s as if you can get to comfortable in front of the camera. Michael Baldwin acts like a grown man hero type in this cult flick. The thing is, he´s actually only a kid. A little boy that looks like a girl acting & cursing like a grown man. Very unsympathetic and annoying. Funny how one little boy can ruin a potentially great and timeless movie. I had the same feeling about Will Smiths son when I saw; The day the earth stood still. A shame. I´d rather cast the guy that played Luke in Star Wars.

Hard to point out one single thing that´s so annoying about Michael Baldwins performance in the movie Phantasm. Maybe the fact that he barks orders at the grown ups as if he were the boss.Maybe that he looks like a hermaphrodite. Maybe that he at times overacts, but not in a funny way. Even though he´s just a boy in this movie you still feel like beating the crap out of him for ruining a potentially fantastic flick. Casting proves to be important when trying to make an eternal classic. A shame!
