  • Man , that's incredibly close , well , done and ofcourse it has to be a 3p , mine died and i really really wonder if i can one day get it fixed , you dont know anyone fixing 3p's? Great work here sounds awesome authentic.

  • Sorry don't have a clue of any one fixing vintage analogues in Australia. The only reason I have it cos it was pretty much on my door step and cost bugger all...I can't really sell it either as it's pretty beat up so I would get bugger all for it...not my fave synth but I do like some of it's sounds like the strings...Fuck fixing it get a jupiter or juno if you have the money.

  • I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it getting jx-3p/poly61, or just save the money and buy a nice monophonic someday down the line, like an ms-20 or roland sh-101 or something since the juno 2 is polyphonic and may not sound super different than the jx

I'm guessing the jx-3p is pretty large eh? My room is pretty cramped as it is and a monophonic like I mentioned will probably only be half the size lol

Thanks, can't really try em in person to tell the difference

  • Don't like MS-20's...some of it's sounds are ok but mainly does those mad sounds which I'm not awlays after.

The Alpha sounds totaly different to the JX..and the 106 imo sounds way different than the 106...many people would say better..for one the 106 and JX both have self oscilating filters..the alpha's don't, alpha and106 have single oscilators but JX has two. It uses the same filter chip as the Juno 60 but it some how sounds totaly different..dirtier. The 60 imo is the best one. SH09 :-)

  • Juno 1 is the SAME as the 2 but better keyboard and what have you.

The 106 sounds a lot nicer in a cool 80's way and the sound is a lot more high quality but the alpha's rock with house music.

My money is on a SH-02, 09, Waldorf Pulse and 101

  • was this pad on the jx-3p processed with effects afterwards?

Been lookin for a poly61m forever, but they don't come up often I hear. I don't want to go for a poly61 as it has no midi.

So I'm looking into the jx-3p as I hear it's similar, plus has midi.

I haven't found many good demos of the jx-3p on youtube though besides a few of yours. The synthfactory of whatever that guy's patches didn't appeal to me too much.

    Thanks

  • Yeah phaser, reverb and compression.

    It's a nice synth...but I preffer the Juno's over it..even the Alpha's but thats a very personal statement.

Some people love JX's these to bits and in the right hands can sound very good.

It does lovely strings and nice basic pad's

  • @Jordo54321 Poly61 and JX3p are really nothing like an MS20 or SH101. The Juno series and JX series sound entirely different from each other. I personally like the JX8P better than my Juno, although the Juno has its own charm. The oscillators really sound different in the two synths. Of course if you want grit, go with the analog Monosynths. The jx3p is actually very small in size, almost like a Casio type board.

  • nice, I'm going to make this on mine.. : )

  • Nice re-work!! Pls link to your other trax.... :)

What did you use for compression?

  • Haha, yeah my only other vintage synth is an Alpha Juno 2 and I love it.

I just want to get another synth from the early 80's, as the juno 2 was mid-semi late 80's.

Just wanted another synth for variety. Was hoping the jx-3p had the possibilities of having a much different sound.

I noticed you have a juno 1, how different from the jx3p does it sound? And how different does a juno 1/2 sound from a 106?(if you happen to know) From demos it seemed like the juno 2 could be pretty close to the 106
