http://www.premierguitar.com PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Des Moines, IA, where he catches up with blues guitarist extraordinaire Joe Bonamassa. In this portion, Joe talks and demos his current lineup of amps for the ongoing tour.

In this video segment, Joe shows off his amplifier setup during the 2009 tour. The four amp collection includes a 20 year old custom Bogner, a Marshall Jubilee, a JB-100 Carol-Ann (1 of 10) and a Van Weelden Twinkleland, which according to Joe is the only one in the US.

Be sure to check out the other Rig Rundowns with Joe Bonamassa as he walks us through his lineup of guitars and demos several of his pedals on his pedalboard. And as always, be sure to visit http://www.premierguitar.com for more gear news and the COMPLETELY FREE digital edition of Premier Guitar magazine.

  • Joe reads your comments!

  • Never Use Plexiglass on Drums & Guitar !

  • His voice and delivery reminds me of Quentin Tarantino...

  • Great tone. Sometimes a hint of Johnson. Great player

  • he doesnt sound like eric johnson. i think people need to go listen to eric a little more. joe has more mid range, not quite as thick as EJ, joe doesnt use a tube driver which has an almost fuzz like tone, you can hear more pick attack in joe, and his phrasing is much more blues base. the only thing joe really does that sounds eric johnson-ish is the pentatonic sequences he does when playing quicker scale runs. but EJ didnt invent that.

  • If you missed him...he has tons of great vids and music out..Awesome tone, a great player, singer and writer too.

  • fuck, never heard of this guy before! got the EJ tone fo sho!

  • seems like a bit much, sounds good though

  • Man, GREAT lead tone!!!

  • @AlembicPools I took this exact amp out on loan from Bogner a few years ago to record with, and it is in fact a 100B. Great sounding amp! I didn't want to give it back, so I ended up buying a 101A when I did give it back. Never heard a better sounding amp.
