  • Since Bob retired and Fremantle took over TPIR ratings have dropped.

  • I will love u forever if you can post highlights of the 5000th Episode. I was on a broadcasting road trip when that episode happened

  • @oldertvshowswerebetr I'm saying they messed up the episode count (no it has nothing to do with hour long shows) and because of that, the REAL 6000th show, aired May 6th, 2003 without any ceremony or mention.

This is merely the ceremonial 6,000th episode; in reality, it is the 6,145th episode.

  • @telewatcher89 - not sure what you mean. Are you saying that they counted 6000 HOUR LONG shows (starting in 1976?) Vinnedge said "6000 HOURS", but from 1972 thru early 76 they were 1/2 hour, so 6000 actual episodes would be a few hundred less than 6000 hours.

  • Wrong SYD, Alex Trebek is gonna pass 7000 shows and knock Barker off the blocks in 2018, mark my words.

  • A thought just came to me. The rotation of announcers in Bob's era of Price were great except Daniel Rosen. Comparing the announcers with Drew, the announcers in Bob's era were much better. At none of the announcers didn't insult a contestant. Shame on you, JD Roberto! I'm glad you didn't get picked as the permanent announcer with Drew. As an announcer, you don't insult a contestant!

  • If they actually celebrated the REAL 6000th show, aired May 6th, 2003, we would have had Rod Roddy announce it!

  • @singingsav oh there will be hosts just as good as johnny olson he might have been the legend of announcing as well as rod roddy but there are great announcers today

  • I agree! The show is nowhere near what it used to be when Bob was on. I used to not be able to miss a show before Bob retired, or i would have a bad day. Now, i can go weeks, even months, without watching a show, and it doesn't bother me. I catch it from time to time now, but not everyday! It's just not the same! I guess i miss Bob more than i realized!! Thank God for Youtube!!! LOL

  • He's OK, but he's pretty boring. His "come on downs!" are too slow. But, he is much better than Daniel Rosen. But, then again, who isn't?

  • So, did he only announce this one episode?
