About the pictures: most were taken in and around Puerto Williams on Navarino Island in Chile, which is across the Beagle Channel from the island of Tierra del Fuego. The sign for Cabo de Hornos (Cape Horn) said 172 km, which is about 107 miles, and to the South Pole was 3,889 km, which is 2,416 miles. Puerto Williams is the southernmost town in the world. The last few pictures were from Patagonia, and they included Cerro Piltriqitron, near El Bolson, Argentina, the foothills of the Andes, the Santa Cruz river, and some of the wide, flat expanse of the pampa.

  • Hey Jim,

The pictures, especially with the moss and clear skies have that "edge of the world feel, and remind me of Alaska.

    Have fun percussing...

    Curt

  • It's funny that you mention the clear skies, because that's something of a rarity in that part of the world. When I was there, they were having a terrible drought, in which it only rained every couple of days, instead of every day.

I suppose the higher latitudes, in whichever direction, are likely to resemble each other. I still really want to go to Alaska, though.

  • South America looks SO beautiful, but almost each picture reminded me of some aspect of living in Ireland, lots of the pictures shared a common similarity: strangely to the place I called "home"

  • thats mapuche rythms with a didgeridoo.

As I am playing catch up on your vids I can't wish you good luck except in the belated sense.

I really enjoy the music selections you make for your vids. So many things you do inspire me to think outside the box.

  • Hey Jim! Bang out that rhythm on a drum!(not orginal...Oscar Hammerstein)Have a great time!

And I loved the photos;beautiful...one of these days I want to go to that part of South America.

  • Pretty cool! I hope the performance goes well on Friday. Great pictures, by the way. I'm feeling really restless at the moment and they made my feet even itchier.
