Mike Pituch invited me to come to DuBois, PA and shoot pickup for his noir film with my Panasonic HVX-200 HD Camcorders. Using my knowledge learned from Lighting, Technical Directing, Video Production I and II, I shot and assistant directed an important escape scene. I edited a rough cut using the LTJ skills I learned in Advanced Digital Editing, and here is the result. It was my idea to light it so Mike's character is completely hidden until the big reveal. That is not an editing effect... it's all practical and it's all lighting.

Narrative Context: A detective played by Jarrod Currin has been captured by an evil cult whose nefarious plot he has inadvertently stumbled upon. Just when all hope is lost, his friend, a journalist played by director Michael Pituch, comes to free him.

  • I wouldn't let that guy behind me while I was tied up in a million years. To put it into football terms: if you are a Tight End now, you will end up being a Wide Receiver.
